renBeaches
Click on the markers to get a link to images of each beach.
The markers in yellow are good for very young children. Blue are those we really like and go to regularly (Cala Presili is a bit of a walk so not so good for small children but very good when you get there). The red beaches in the south west are lovely and in general good for kids but access is often difficult. Green are popular beaches but not personally our favourites. There are many other beaches, particularly along the south east coast but we generally find them too busy and touristy.
Cala Mesquida is a wide beach but shelves more steeply than Es Grau. For slightly older children it can be fun as there are often more waves.
From the villa, Es Grau is a 5 minute drive. Cala Mesquida about 15 to 20 minutes. To get to Son Bou on the other side of the island is 30 minutes. When our kids were younger we tended to stick to the north of the island when the weather was fine or the wind was from the south and only head to the southern beaches when the wind was from the north.
At Es Grau you can also hire kayaks, pedalos and single hull and catamaran sail boats
Here is a video (not ours!) and a website to look at.
